Intro to Figure Sketching with Michelle Prezioso

  • PollyannaR Studio Gallery 209-211 Commercial Road Morwell, VIC, 3840 Australia (map)

Learn how to start drawing the human figure using basic sketching tools and techniques!

About this event

In this workshop you'll learn some of the basic techniques of figure drawing. With guidance, you'll learn sketching techniques for your drawing toolbox which will help you identify body landmarks, negative spaces, curves and the basic proportions of the human figure.

This is a low pressure workshop with a focus on having fun and learning some new skills!

What to bring:

Anything you'd like to draw with! This could include:

  • Pencils (HB, 2B and 6B are great for sketching)

  • A pen (a regular ballpoint pen with black ink is my favourite to use!)

  • Charcoal sticks (compressed or willow are both great)

  • An eraser (regular or kneadable)

  • Something to draw on (an A3 size art journal, 110GSM and above is perfect)

What to wear:

Painting or art clothes that you won't mind getting a little dirty - if you're using charcoal it can be messy!

This workshop is appropriate for:

Those wanting to learn something new or refresh their skills. You'll be learning basic skills to get yourself more familiar with drawing people.

Attendees will get one-on-one guidance from an established artist.

**Please note this is not a life drawing workshop and sketching will be done from supplied photo references**
